Location photographyA collection of photos taken on a medical mission to the Mwandi village on the Zambezi River. Common ailments there include HIV/AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis. The prevalence of HIV among adults in Mwandi is more than 20 percent. Orphans and other vulnerable children account for nearly 1,300 of the 7,000 children living in Mwandi. The OVC (for orphans and vulnerable children) is a vital project devoted to their ongoing care. Support covers education expense, feeding programs and recreational activities.
ResultsThe photographs have been used by the missionaries in PowerPoint presentations to communicate progress to UCZ members and raise funds from outside contributors. They have also been used in AIDS Relief fundraising efforts here in the U.S.
